"Small and midsize businesses need to have a regular backup routine for their servers. Copying a few key files to a CD every now and then won't cut it if your server's hard drive crashes, and the days of downtime and thousands of dollars you'll burn as a recovery service tries (perhaps unsuccessfully) to resurrect your data will be an expensive lesson indeed."

How It Works

First Backup:
Repeat Backups:
Restore Files:

First Backup:

  • An account with F1 Backup is setup and then the Client software is installed on the user's computer or server

  • You select the files to be backed up and then set a backup schedule. When the first backup is run all selected files are sent. This first backup can sometimes take a long time (2 gig uncompressed can take 12 hours), but repeat backups could take only minutes.

Repeat Backups:

1.    Files that are new or have changed since the last backup are automatically selected

2.    Selected files are compressed (sometimes more than 99% using FastBIT technology)

3.    Compressed files are encrypted

4.    Then a connection is made over the Internet to our server and the encrypted data is sent

5.    Data is stored on our server in its encrypted form for however long you need

Restore Files:

1.    Run F1 Backup Client, select the restore tab and choose which files you would like to restore and click "restore now".

2.    F1 Backup Client then will contact the F1 Backup Server and request the encrypted files be returned to your system for restoration

3.    Your computer un-encrypts the restored files using your encryption key and the files are ready for use
